The Gourmet-O-Matic tm Guides

Dr. Applebaum's Gourmet-O-Matic tm is the simple, fool-proof way to make meals more interesting.

The difference between a "regular" meal and epicurean fare can be remarkably small, albeit creative.

The trick to making a meal gourmet is to do the unexpected to a "routine" food base (e.g., chicken, vegetable), yet compatible with it.

In some ways, gourmet fare results from combining ingredients that spur the question, "Why didn't I think of that?"

The Gourmet-O-Matic tm presents principles for making meals gourmet that are standard, enduring and immutable.

The principles are based squarely on the science of taste and food perception. Don't worry, you do not need to know any science to create gourmet fare using The Gourmet-O-Matic tm,

Otherwise, it would not be "O-Matic."

Twice a month, at least one gourmet tip, serving suggestion, strategy and/or recipe will be presented demonstrating how The Gourmet-O-Matic tm approach and the application of its principles results in a new, gourmet dish.

These will be posted on The Gourmet-O-Matic tm Blog, which can be found here.

To use this site to your best advantage, we recommend reviewing the Introductions and Principles in the order presented to the left.

Then move on to the The Gourmet-O-Matic tm Guides.

When you have completed them, you will be able to create your own gourmet viands at will.

Enjoy!
